[Update] Pre-Alpha 0.2.0


Important notices:

  • MAPS FROM PRE-ALPHA 0.1.0 OR EARLIER NO LONGER WORK

Brand new map system (PolyMap, the reason this update took so long):

  • Based on polygons, instead of tiles.
  • More info can be found here.

New tutorial map:

  • Teaches the basics of the game.

New textures:

  • Lava and water now have new textures + effects.

Removed tiles:

  • The breakable wall tile has been removed temporarily. Will be replaced with a breakable wall shape later.

Enemies:

  • A new look for the sniper enemy. Now matches the colors of the basic enemy.
  • The sniper enemies can now be eaten.
  • A bunch of small tweaks to the enemy AI.

Powerups:

  • The powerup pickup screen now shows the name of the powerup you are about to pick up.
  • Using powerups now costs multiple different kinds of loot.
  • Some powerups have new particle effects.

Other:

  • New loot collecting sounds.
  • New UI to show how much of each loot type the player has.
  • Fixed some bugs, and probably added some new ones.
  •  ... and a bunch of other smaller things.
